February proved to be a wonderful month for Charnwood AC's young athletes in indoor field competitions.

Having achieved a personal best height of 2.63 metres in the pole vault competition in Manchester the previous month, Eden Dickens was placed 2nd in the under 15 Midland Championships at Birmingham and then two weeks later secured a bronze medal in the National Championships, an amazing performance considering that Eden only took up pole vaulting just over a year ago.

At under 17 level in the Midland Championships long jump competition Molly Palmer claimed the gold medal with a personal best leap of 5.77 metres which placed her number 2 in the UK rankings.

In the National Championships at Sheffield, two weeks later Molly again claimed the gold medal, secured with her first jump, with a massive personal best of 5.91 metres.

In between these two prestigious victories she captained Leicestershire’s under 15 Sportshall team to victory in the Regional finals, and took 1st place in the individual competition.
